Yippee!!
I just realized that I have only two weeks of school left. I am so exhausted that I cannot even think sometimes. I know it is really worth it in the end, but it will also be many years before I forget what this tiredness and pain feel like. Then again, maybe I am just getting old. I am looking forward to externship and hope I get the kind of site I want. After graduation I would love to work in a medical office that sees many children. That is where my heart is at, for I love helping sick children. I hope my classmates are excited about their new lives as well, wherever life leads them. Let's congratulate ourselves on two long years of studying. The many wonderful instructors and students will be missed and I am a bit sad that this part of my life is over. Good luck to all. Cheers!

What Is a Wiki?
A wiki is an online collaborative content management system. Businesses use them to store information, distribute information for employees, and provide a medium through which all employees can share ideas and input in a fair manner. Rather than management just passing along info to their employees, it is really a two way street of interaction. Many people can work on the same document at the same time. Each wiki has its own community divided into three sections, the reader, writer, and editor. This may further help you find what you are looking for. In addition, there are different kinds of wikis, such as reference, game, or entertainment. In general wikis provide project documentation and global communication. Many times wikis are used to conduct business meetings with members from different places instead of a live in-office meeting.
Large or small company projects can be managed and manipulated, templates can be stored, and data can be stored and edited, all in the simplicity of a wiki. One of the best features is that a wiki can be a great source of information, usually free, much like an online library.
Sometimes it may be hard to find the wiki you want. The Comprehensive Guide to Wikis may be of help. A wiki farm is another great resource. It narrows your search for the best wiki by grouping wikis, with similar content or subject, into topics, therefore eliminating the daunting task of finding the perfect search parameters by which to find what you seek. Wikia and Wetpaint are the most popular of these.
Marketing Entries, hacking, and misinformation are the possible drawbacks of wikis. Just like anything else, you have to use common sense and good judgment in order to get the most out of the wiki experience. Even with its downside, wikis are here to stay.

Using Blogs for Research
http://www.stress-free.co.nz/using_blogging_as_a_research_tool
In this age of technology a new research tool has emerged. Blogs are the newest hotspot of information for today's students and businesses. There are many advantages to using blogs for research.
First, information on blogs is usually created in logical and chronological order. This is unlike using plain Google or other search engines, which find articles relevant to the search parameters in no particular order or age related format. By using Google Blog Search or icerocket, the reader can filter their search to include only blogs. This eliminates a few hundred or thousand unnecessary articles to check out for usefullness.
Second, Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a blog tool to help your computer keep abreast of updates to a particular blog instead of you having to revisit a blog/website everyday to do this yourself. Your computer can then organize new information for you, so in essence it helps both you and your computer. Most blogs have an RSS button for you.
Third, there are specific tools designed to make the blogging esperience easier and more productive. Such tools guide you through the processes of posting articles and even citing sources for later reference. Some blogs have links to take you to other helpful sites.
Lastly, the information comes from the companies or people themselves. In this way, what you get is more relevant to what you seek. A wealth of information, with a personal angle, about a particular subject can be found in one search instead of the tradtional websearch whech may take hours to dissect. It is also easier to locate other people who share your interest and may provide just the answers you are seeking.
Overall, blogs are just another tool developed to navigate to the superworld of information on the web. This type of social networking has caught on at home, work, and school fairly fast and at least for now it appears to be around for a long time

Anchor Hocking Company
http://www.anchorhocking.com/blog/index.html
I have recently read the blog for Anchor Hocking and I must say that I was impressed. Not only was the layout user friendly, but the content was great as well. I watched a corporate video which showed some of the steps involved in making their product, glass containers. Especially interesting was the part where the machine put the markings/logo on what looked like measuring cups. Many ideas were given for the suggested use of their products. Readers are invited to share their ideas as well. Anchor Hocking wants us to know why we should bake with glass dishes and we are given some safety rules as well. There are easy to find archives for what we have missed, and great holiday ideas and themed ideas. I found the pictures helpful too. The company even sells "hope" products for breast cancer support and this tells me that they care about real people and are consumer conscious. I chose this site because I have always bought and used Anchor Hocking products when I could because they are reliable and reasonably priced. When I have more time I will revisit the site and read more about the company. Overall, I think they did a good job of creating an interesting, easy to use blog.
